Sunday School Classes & Support Groups

New Covenant Baptist Church offers a variety of groups to help support and encourage our community members throughout their walk of faith. We strive to support our members in times of hardship and relish in celebrating the moments of accomplishment through community!

  • Grief Support group

    The Grief Support Group meets at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays at our current place of worship, 111 South Alabama Avenue, Deland. They use Alan Wolfelt’s "Understanding Your Grief" as a discussion guide. The Grief Support Group meets for 11 sessions of an hour and a half each time. If you are struggling with grief, old or new, please consider joining us!

  • Retired Pastors Group

    The Retired Pastors Group meets every Thursday at 10:00 a.m.  at our current place of worship, 111 South Alabama Avenue, Deland. The group usually meets for an hour and a half for a discussion led by one of the group members.

  • Pastor's sunday school class

    The Pastor’s Sunday School class, taught by Dr. Bob Mulkey, has been together since New Covenant Baptist Church began in 2013.  This class meets Sunday's at 9:45 a.m. at our current place of worship, 111 South Alabama Avenue, Deland. The class uses material published by Smyth and Helwys, a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship supported Baptist publishing house based in Macon, GA. 

  • Alternative sunday school class

    The Alternative Sunday School Class is taught by Dr. Mitchell Reddish, Chairman of the Department of Religious Studies at Stetson University. The class meets every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. for an hour. It is a hybrid class meeting both in person and via zoom. Dr. Reddish provides the biblical subject the class will study. He dedicated his commentary on the Book of Revelation to The Alternative Class. If you are interested in obtaining the zoom link to join, please email bobc.mulkey@gmail.com.
